A TEENAGE girl escaped an abduction attempt at Coolamon last night.
About 9pm yesterday, a 16-year-old girl was walking along Loughman Road when a man in a white Holden Commodore station wagon stopped beside her and asked for directions.
As the girl moved closer to the vehicle, the man attempted to pull her into the car.
The girl was able to break free from his grasp before the vehicle drove away.
Police from Wagga Local Area Command were informed and have commenced an investigation.
Investigators would like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, 40-50 years old, bald with dark hair around the sides, with a medium build, unshaven stubble, a croaky voice, and hairy arms.
The vehicle he was driving is described as having a 15cm dent on the driver’s side rear panel.
Police are also appealing for a woman who went to the teenager’s aid to come forward.
Anyone with information should contact Wagga Police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
