MUSIC, poetry and a fascinating insight into museum exhibition will all be featured in a free event at the Museum of the Riverina later this month.
Home in the Vast will be a free seminar at the Museum’s Botanic Gardens site, featuring Margaret Simpson who will speak about her work as a curator for the Department of Science and Industry at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
Specialising in transport, Margaret will talk about a database she created, designed to help regional museums research farm machinery in Australia.
She will be joined by composer, ornithologist and zoomusicologist Hollis Taylor, from the University of Technology, Sydney, who will explore zoomusicology through violin compositions inspired by the Pied Butcherbird.
Special guests will also read their favourite poems exploring local themes.
The free event will be held on November 23 from 10am, including light refreshments.
To RSVP, contact 6926 9655 or email firstname.lastname@example.org by November 19.
