SOME big names in music will head to Wagga next week to kick off the school holidays for local students.
Young people aged 12 to 18 are counting down to the Regenerate Youth Festival, to be held at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
X Factor finalists The Collective will headline the event, alongside other local bands and DJs who will take to the main stage.
Event Coordinator Karly Pieper from Wagga City Council said the festival was a great event for Wagga’s young people.
“The Regenerate Youth Festival provides an opportunity for the city’s youth to experience first-class performers without having to travel to the major cities,” she said.
This year’s festival will again be broken into a number of zones, with something for everyone.
The Music Zone will feature The Collective alongside KG and DJs Taylor Bentley and The Fusionest, while free amusement rides will run in the Amusement Zone.
The Chill Out Zone will offer some quiet space to relax, including food and drink, and attendees can stay looking their best in the Hair and Beauty Zone, or get snapped in the photo booth and have a spray on tattoo in the Creative Zone.
Hip hop and break dancing workshops will run in the Dance Zone.
Tickets for the event are $40 each at the gate, but people can get in early and pre-purchase tickets for $30 by calling 1300 100 122, dropping into the Wagga Visitor Information Centre or heading to the Regenerate website.
The will run from 4pm to 10pm at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Friday, April 11, with entry through the Travers Street gates between 4pm and 7pm only.
