A MAN has been charged with drugs and weapon offences after a vehicle stop at North Wagga this morning.
The 23-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on Oura Road about 3.30am today by officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol.
Police searched the man and will allege they located a driver’s licence in another person’s name and more than $1100 cash.
Police then searched the vehicle and allegedly seized two knives, a baton-shaped torch, and a replica firearm. Officers will further allege a bag suspected of containing drugs was also found.
The man was taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with:
• Possession of a prohibited drug
• Goods in custody suspected of being stolen
• Custody of a knife (two counts)
• Custody of offensive implement.
The man, from Ashmont, was granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on May 21.
