A MAN has faced court in Malaysia following investigations carried out by New South Wales Police into the alleged murder of another man at a Wagga noodle takeaway shop in 2006.
On 11 March 2014, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Malaysia in response to an extradition request made by Australia on behalf of NSW Police.
The man is wanted for prosecution in NSW for the alleged murder and robbery of Deng Chi Li on 11 September 2006 at Wagga.
Police allege that Mr Li’s body was located at the rear of business premises in Baylis Street with multiple stab wounds.
Strike Force Nuggetty comprising officers attached to Wagga Local Area Command, with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation resulting in arrest warrants being issued, for the man.
The matter remains before the courts in Malaysia.
