A RIVERINA student has claimed top honour at a statewide awards ceremony.
TAFE NSW Riverina Institute’s Tahnee Jamieson claimed the Vocational Student of the Year Award at last week’s NSW Training Awards in Sydney.
She was one of three finalists from Riverina Institute, having previously claimed the Riverina regional award.
She will now go on to represent NSW at the Australian Training Awards, to be held in November in Perth.
TAFE NSW Riverina Institute director Kerry Penton said it was a huge achievement to earn the recognition.
“This is a wonderful achievement which reflects Tahnee’s efforts and the efforts of all involved,” she said.
“Tahnee is an exceptional student, talented, caring and professional. We are proud of her achievements and excited about her success.”
Other Riverina students who were among the finalists at the awards were Steven Warton, an electrical trades student from Young Campus, in the Apprentice of the Year category, and business administration student Tiarna Robertson, from West Wyalong, who was in the running for Trainee of the Year.
